This small publication explores 'Japonism.' Ever since Japanese reopened trade with the West in 1853, there had been a flood of travelers and goods coming into Japan and the West. People in the West became strongly attracted to Japanese culture and art. This book explores how Japanese prints heavily influenced the Western painters.
